Tour Details
Huguenot Pass
As you embark on this scenic 2 hour journey, you'll wind your way through the majestic Du Toitskloof Mountains, passing through the impressive 3.9 km long Huguenot Tunnel. Emerging on the other side, you'll be treated to a breathtaking panorama of towering peaks and lush valleys, stretching as far as the eye can see. A leisurely drive through the picturesque Breedekloof and Hexrivier wine regions on route to the Klein Karoo.
The Klein Karoo
The Swartberg (Black Mountain) to the north and the Langeberg and Outeniqua mountain chains to the south, encircle the Aquila Game Reserve, which is situated in the Klein Karoo, one of the most breathtaking regions in the Western Cape. When European pioneers first arrived in this arid region in the late 17th century to study the semi-desert natural area, they discovered that the only inhabitants were the Khoisan people.
Aquila Private Game Reserve
On arrival at the reserve you will be treated to a welcome drink, check in and a buffet lunch. Take a 2 - 3 hour, open air safari excursion and explore the 10000 hectare private game reserve. Spot Rhinos, Elephant, Lion, Buffalo and Cheetahs. Before you enter the lion reserve you will come across a herd of antelope. The magnificent sight of the male Cape Barbary lion, a rare find, will astound you. You will then view a large variety of antelope species, giraffes, herds of zebras, the V shaped horns of the oryx, the eland and wildebeest.
After your game drive head back to Cape Town via Huguenot Tunnel.
